BERLIN, June 07, /ITAR-TASS/. German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has warned the Ukrainian authorities against the excessive use of force in the country’s east.
“We cannot admit that the operation in eastern Ukraine would increase supporters of federalisation,” Steinmeier said on Saturday.
At the same time, he called on Russia to continue to stabilisation in Ukraine.
“It is important that Moscow support the country’s territorial integrity and come against the separation,” he said.
Russia and Ukraine should step up security measures on the border to prevent weapons contraband and its illegal crossing, Steinmeier said.
At the same time, he said Russia’s position “changed considerably”.
