12 people killed in tornadoes in southern, central US

Tornado warnings have been issued for the states of Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana

NEW YORK, April 28. /ITAR-TASS/. Tornadoes in the US states of Arkansas and Oklahoma have killed 12 people, local authorities reported.

Many buildings have been damaged by the storm. Emergency service workers and volunteers are inspecting houses in the area to find people that require immediate medical attention. Interstate 40 has been shut down for traffic.

A powerful storm system has passed through central, southern and northern parts of the US on Sunday. Tornado warnings have been issued for the states of Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana.
