Ukrainian Security Service confirmed its security officers had been captured in east Ukraine’s Donetsk region, the press centre of the country’s Security Service reported on Sunday without specifying the exact number of captured security officers and details of the incident.
In the evening on April 26 a group of Ukrainian security officers had been on a mission in the eastern Ukrainian city of Gorlovka to detain a suspected killer of Vladimir Rybak, a lawmaker of the Gorlovka city council, the press centre reported.
“The headquarters of the anti-terrorist operation seeks to release Ukrainian security officers from captivity,” the press centre said.
The Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office has opened a criminal case over illegal obstruction to activity of Ukrainian security agents.
