G7 may hold summit in early June — European Commission

BRUSSELS, March 25. /ITAR-TASS/.The G7 summit may take place early in June in Brussels, spokesperson for the European Commission Pia Ahrenkilde Hansen reported on Tuesday.

“Many factors naturally favor the G7 meeting to be held in Brussels in early June,” she told journalists.

The spokesperson added that the meeting place was chosen basing on the fact that “many of the leaders would be in Europe” for festivities dedicated to 70th anniversary of the D-Day invasion of Normandy.

The festive events of 70th anniversary of the D-Day invasion of Normandy will take place June 6 in France.
