Voting on Ukraine’s new government to be held on February 27

Batkivshchyna faction leader Arseniy Yatsenyuk said lawmakers from the Party of Regions were not welcome in the coalition

KIEV, February 25. /ITAR-TASS/. Voting on the composition of Ukraine’s new government will take place in the morning on February 27, leader of the Batkivshchyna (Fatherland) faction in the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada (national parliament) Arseniy Yatsenyuk said on Tuesday.

“We have a very clear schedule and a very clear plan how to do it,” he said, adding that a signature collecting campaign had already started to sign an agreement of the formation of a parliamentary coalition.

“It will be based on the government’s program,” he noted. “The agenda includes stabilization of the financial and political situation in the country, agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), prompt investigation of all crimes, reforms of the system of the interior ministry and signing an agreement with the European Union.”

According to Yatsenyuk, lawmakers from the Party of Regions were not welcome in the coalition.
