German House for Sochi Winter Olympics presented in Dusseldorf

BERLIN, January 14 (Itar-Tass) - The Germans’ diplomatic headquarters for the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, called the German House, has been presented in Dusseldorf (the Federal Land of North Rhine-Westphalia) on Tuesday.

Representatives of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and the German Paralympic Committee said the house with a total area of 685 sq m would serve for meetings with athletes and guests of the Games, news conferences and other events.

The German House will be placed at the Le Chalet restaurant at the Krasnaya Polyana ski resort and is supposed to receive up to 350 guests every day. The Germans have ordered about 6,000 traditional Bavarian sausages and Vienna sausages to be served to guests, Axel Achten, Managing Director of Deutsche Sport-Marketing GmbH, who is running the house, said.

“The German House as a central meeting place for the German and international sports community is an integral part of the Olympic Games,” Michael Vesper, Director General of the DOSB and head of the German Olympic delegation to Sochi, told journalists.
