Russia delivers 40 tonnes of humanitarian aid for Syrian refugees in Lebanon

An Il-76 plane delivered a 40 tonne humanitarian cargo that includes tents, blankets, sugar and canned food for 840,000 Syrian refugees in Lebanon

BEIRUT, December 18. /ITAR-TASS/. A plane of the Russian Emergencies Ministry with humanitarian consignment for Syrian refugees in Lebanon has landed at Beirut International Airport, the ministry’s information department told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

An Il-76 plane delivered a 40 tonne humanitarian cargo that includes tents, blankets, sugar and canned food for 840,000 Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

The cargo will be handed over to the Lebanese government’s emergencies committee.

In 2013 the Russian Emergencies Ministry sent over 200 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Syria and neighbouring Lebanon and Jordan. Another 70 tonnes were intended for Palestinian refugees in Syria.
