CAIRO, November 14, 13:38 /ITAR-TASS/. Russia wants Egypt to be a stable and politically effective state, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said after talks with Egyptian counterpart Nabil Fahmy on Thursday.
“We hope Egypt’s efforts to work out a new constitution and hold a referendum will move forward and achieve desirable goals,” Lavrov said.
“Russia is committed to the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of a state. We respect Egypt’s sovereignty and Egyptians’ right to decide on their fate,” the Russian minister said.
