Director General of UN Office in Geneva Tokayev resigns

GENEVA, October 16 (Itar-Tass) - Kassym-Jomart Tokayev resigned from the post of the general director of the United Nations Office in Geneva. He reported about the decision in his Twitter microblog on Wednesday.

The press service of the United Nations Office in Geneva confirmed this report to Itar-Tass.

 This has been confirmed by the European branch of the UN. The press service noted that the decision was made due to Tokaev being elected as the chairman of the Kazakhstan’s parliament.
