THE UNITED NATIONS, February 12 (Itar-Tass) – A nuclear test was conducted in North Korea on Tuesday, a source in the UN Security Council said.

South Korea informed the UN Security Council about a nuclear test in North Korea, he said.

An earthquake measured 4.9 points on the Richter scale was reported earlier on Tuesday. The epicentre of the earthquake was located in the Kilju County in north-eastern North Korea, where the Punggye-ri nuclear test site is situated.
