VLADIKAVKAZ, January 11 (Itar-Tass) — The third Russian alpinist was found dead in Georgia, after the avalanche killed him on Thursday, spokesperson for the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the North Caucasus republic of North Ossetia Yulia Starchenko told Itar-Tass on Friday.
It was earlier reported that two other Russian alpinists were found dead. The only survivor under the avalanche is a 16-year-old teenager. He was already taken away from Georgia and was delivered home to the city Volgodonsk accompanied by his relatives.
A helicopter will bring all three dead alpinists from the tragedy place to the settlement Kazbegi in Georgia. The dead climbers will be brought to Russia from Kazbegi on Saturday morning through the transport corridor, which was opened on the Russian-Georgian border at the border checkpoint Verkhny Lars, and then the bodies of the mountaineers will be delivered to Volgodonsk escorted by the Russian emergency workers.
On January 10, in the descent from the Mkinvartsveri Mount four Russian tourists were hit by the avalanche. Three of them are members of the Stepanov family and the fourth one is Sergei Movchan, 42. All of them are the residents of the Rostov Region.
