Turkish artillery attack ‘terrorist locations’ in Syria’s Tell Abyad

Earlier, the Turkish Air Forces struck another Syrian settlement of Ras al-Ayn

ANKARA, October 9. /TASS/. Units of the Turkish artillery have attacked Kurdish formations in the area of the Syrian town of Tell Abyad, the A Haber TV channel informed. 

According to the channel, the artillery targetted "terrorist locations" in the north of Syria. Earlier, the Turkish Air Forces struck another Syrian settlement of Ras al-Ayn, resulting in civilian casualties whose number is being specified, the television broadcaster Al-Hadath reports.

According to Al-Hadath, Turkey’s Air Force has carried out a total of 16 strikes against Kurdish positions, command posts and headquarters in al-Mushrifah, Khirbet al-Banat, al-Asadiya and Bir Nuh. Thick clouds of smoke are seen rising from the ground.

Turkish military planes are currently in the sky over the city of Derbasia, 50 kilometers away from the border. The artillery are shelling Ayn Issa in the north of Raqqa province. The road between Ras al-Ayn and Tell-Abyad is under fire. The exodus of refugees from border communities is growing.

The Syrian news agency SANA reports that Turkish military aggression has caused destruction of economic facilities in a number of localities. Artillery shells are crashing around the city of Kamisli, where the armed coalition Syrian Democratic Forces has its headquarters.
