Russian military police units patrol areas near Syria's Manbij

The military police are expanding their patrol zone

MANBIJ, February 14. /TASS/. Russian military police patrols are closely following the developments around the city of Manbij in the Syrian province of Aleppo. Militants from the so-called moderate opposition are operating just one kilometer away from patrol areas. They are not trying to interfere with patrols but Russian military police remain on high alert.

"Machine gunners need to remain on all-round watch. If equipment stops, they need to take measures to fix the problem and immediately leave the place of the shelling," the commander said.

The military police are expanding their patrol zone. On Wednesday policemen arrived in the settlement of Avsharia. Their tasks remain the same - to prevent any type of provocations from any side. Militants closely watch convoys of Russian military police that regularly patrol the disputed area. Convoy routes are updated daily.

Most of Avsharia's residents are Kurds.
