Russia’s military continues interaction with US, European colleagues on Syria

The defence ministry recalled that Moscow has legally binding documents with 75 countries of the world

MOSCOW, November 30. /TASS/. Russia’s Defense Ministry continues interaction with European countries and the United States on the issues of mutual practical interest, including on Syria, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Colonel-General Alexander Fomin said on Friday.

"An active dialogue is underway on the Syrian issues, the prevention of incidents in the course of military activity, on the problems of regional and international security and on military memorial work. Planned measures are held within the framework of implementing international arms control agreements," the Russian general said.

Also, "amid certain degradation of military ties in Europe, agreements on military cooperation have been signed over the past three years with 20 countries of the Middle East, Africa, the Asia-Pacific region and Latin America," Fomin noted.

"As of today, we have legally binding documents with 75 countries of the world, which provides for a possibility of promoting Russia’s interests in the regions," the deputy defense minister said.

"Interaction is underway on a broad range of issues, from holding joint combat training measures, personnel training and staff negotiations to exchanging delegations," the Russian general said.
