NewsOne journalists attacked by radicals in central Kiev

KIEV, November 18. /TASS/. Journalists from the Ukrainian NewsOne television channel were attacked by radicals protesting against a transgender march in central Kiev, the television channel said on Sunday.

"Our shooting crew was attacked by radicals who tried to stop a march dedicated to the day of remembrance of transgender victims of violence. An activist spewed in the face of our correspondent," NewsOne said, adding that radicals and lawmakers of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine’s national parliament) who came to support the radicals were hindering the journalists to do their job.

"During a live standup, lawmaker Oksana Korichinskaya came up to me and said we were allegedly provoking the opponents of this march and demanded we go away," said a NewsOne correspondent. "We were literally pushed away from the rally when radicals came."

In the past months, NewsOne journalists have been attacked by radicals several times. On October 10, radicals splashed unidentified liquid at a NewsOne correspondent and a cameraman. On September 17, a NewsOne correspondent was attacked by an aggressive woman during a nationalists’ protest rally.
