Kiev forces fire over 300 munitions at Donetsk republic, militias say

DONETSK, November 18. /TASS/. Ukraine’s forces violated the ceasefire 18 times over the past 24 hours, firing more than 300 munitions at the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, Head of the DPR group in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire (JCCC) Ruslan Yakubov said.

"Over the past 24 hours the overall number of ceasefire violations by the Ukrainian Armed Forces has reached 18," Yakubov said, according to the Donetsk News Agency. "The total number of munitions used by the Ukrainian army is 314."

The Kiev forces opened fire at the villages of Staromikhailovka, Alexandrovka, Trudovskaya coal mine in western Donetsk, Spartak to the north of Donetsk, Yasinovataya and the neighboring settlements of Vasilyevka, Krutaya Balka, Kashtanovoye, Mineralnoye, Golmovsky, Zaytsevo, Dolomitnoye and others.

During the shellings the military used mortars, anti-aircraft mounts, armaments of infantry fighting vehicles and armored vehicles, grenade launches and small arms.

One civilian was wounded in the Trudovskaya coal mine village during the shelling carried out by the Ukrainian forces on Saturday.

A new ceasefire came into effect in the Donbass region on the midnight of August 29. The agreement had been reached on August 22 in Minsk by the Trilateral Contact Group members who made a statement to cease fire along the contact line at the beginning of the school year. However, according to the DPR, Ukraine’s forces violated the new ceasefire three hours after its launch by shelling the outskirts of Gorlovka.

The sides have agreed more than 20 ceasefires since the start of the Donbass conflict, with the most successful ceasefire seen in 2016, which lasted six weeks.
