Russian military delivers 3.9 tonnes of food to two Syrian governorates

The Russian reconciliation center continues to fulfill assigned tasks after the completion of the military campaign in Syria

MOSCOW, October 30. /TASS/. A total of 3.9 tonnes of food products were delivered by officers of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria to two settlements in the Deir ez-Zor and Hama governorates, the Center’s chief, Vladimir Savchenko, said on Tuesday.

"During the day, officers of the Russian reconciliation center conducted two humanitarian operations. As many as 900 bags with food with an overall weight of 3.9 tonnes were distributed among civilians in the settlements of al-Tabiya in the Deir ez-Zor governorate and al-Hashimiya in the Hama governorate," he said.

Apart from that, fresh bread was handed out to people in an Aleppo neighborhood. "Since the beginning of the settlement process in Syria, officers of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties have conducted a total of 1,976 humanitarian operation. The overall weight of humanitarian cargoes is 3,092 tonnes," he said.

However, according to Savchenko, ceasefire violations by illegal armed groups operating in the Idlib de-escalation zone continue. Thus, during the day shelling attacks were reported from the settlement of Ikko in the Latakia governorate and the settlement of Tell Bazzam in the Hama governorate.

The main efforts of the Russian military are now focused on assistance to the refugees returning to their homes.
