ZURICH, March 17. /TASS/. FIFA’s Financial and Governance Report published on Thursday says it payed it’s former President Sepp Blatter $3.7 million and former Secretary General Gerome Valcke $2.2 million.

The Swiss attorney general opened criminal proceedings against former FIFA President Sepp Blatter who has been FIFA’s president since 1998, for the alleged transfer of 2 million Swiss francs to Vice-President Michel Platini account.

The transfer was made in 2011 for the services provided between 1999-2002. Early in October, the FIFA ethics committee suspended Blatter and Platini for 90 days. The ethics committee also suspended FIFA’s Secretary General Jerome Valcke last September.

FIFA reports $450 million for 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia

FIFA’s Financial and Governance Report published on Thursday says $450 million was related to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, it’s Budget for FIFA Confederations Cup in 2017 is $55 million, when total investments are $1,300 million.

Russia is currently in full-swing preparations for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The country won the bid to host the global football championship over four years ago in a tight race against the joint bid from England, Portugal and Spain and the joint bid on behalf of Belgium and the Netherlands.

Russia selected 11 host cities to be the venues for the matches of the 2018 World Cup and they are Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Kazan, Saransk, Kaliningrad, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg and Samara.

The matches of the 2018 World Cup will be held between June 14 and July 15 at 12 stadiums located in the 11 mentioned above cities across Russia. Two of the stadiums are located in the Russian capital.
