A total of 50 adults and 15 children were evacuated from the building

STAVROPOL, December 20. /TASS/. A total of 65 people were evacuated after an unidentified object exploded in an apartment in the southern Russian city of Stavropol, city head Andrei Dzhatdoyev said on Wednesday.

"The public-safety answering point was informed about a blast in a residential building," he said. "Upon arrival, it turned out that it was not a household gas explosion, as was initially suggested, but a result of unlawful actions," he said.

According to residents, the blast rocked an apartment on the tenth floor, shattering windows. The man, who was inside the apartment at the moment, threatened to carry out another blast. According to the mayor, the man was not a local resident and rented this apartment.
