District head: all people on board crashed helicopter in Transbaikal dead

The three people on board were the pilot, the director general and the chief engineer of the Darhan company founded by helicopter owner

CHITA, October 24. /TASS/. All three people on board the Robinson helicopter that crashed in the Transbaikal Territory in East Siberia are dead, the head of the Baleisky District, Sergey Galchenko said.

"All of them died. The crash site is 10 kilometers south from the village of Nizhneye Giryunino of the Baleisky District, one kilometer from the federal highway," Galchenko told TASS.

He said Emergencies Ministry employees and a local resident who saw the helicopter’s fall are heading to the crash site.

The Transbaikal Territory’s regional department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry told TASS earlier that the wreckage of the missing Robinson helicopter has been found in East Siberia.

"A Russian Interior Ministry Mi-8 helicopter discovered the wreckage of the helicopter in the Baleisky District," the statement said. "An operational Emergencies Ministry group has departed for the site."

The Robinson helicopter with three people on board bound from Zolotorechensk to Dzhalal-Kadai site in East Siberia’s Transbaikal Territory did not establish contact at a scheduled time on Sunday.
