ULAN UDE, June 23. /TASS/. More than 50 children have been evacuated from a summer camp in Russia’s Siberian republic of Buryatia over a flooding hazard, a spokesman for the local department of the Russian emergencies ministry said on Thursday.
According to the spokesman, the decision was taken by the local administration on the basis of the forecast of water level rising in the local river flowing some 300 meters off the camp.
A total of 51 children vacationing in the camp and 16 personnel members were accommodated in a sports school in a neighboring village.
