The tree is about 100 years old and 27 meters tall

MOSCOW, November 29. /TASS/. Russia’s main Christmas tree will arrive in Kremlin from the Moscow Region on December 18, Kremlin representative Yelena Krylova informed.

"The tree’s age is 100 years, its height is 27 meters, and the trunk is 60 centimeters in diameter," she stated.

On Friday, Head of the Presidential Property Management Directorate Alexander Kolpakov held a session of the organizing committee on preparing and holding the All-Russia New Year Celebration in Kremlin. "The head of the presidential property management directorate was informed about the choice of the main Christmas tree, which will arrive in the Moscow Kremlin on December 18," Krylova noted.

The traditional children’s New Year Celebration will take place for the 18th time in the State Kremlin Palace on December 26. Schoolchildren from all Russia’s regions, as well as Abkhazia and South Ossetia, are invited to the celebrations. "We will hold the celebration traditionally, at the highest level - the Kremlin level. I hope that children from all over the country would be happy to visit the Kremlin, and will retain magical memories of the New Year holiday," Kolpakov stated earlier in an interview with TASS.

The Kremlin official informed that the children would enjoy an interesting and educational concert program, set to take place in Moscow over several days. They can also ice skate on the Kremlin ice rink. After the celebrations, all children will receive sweets and chocolate from Russian manufacturers.
