Over 336,000 accommodation places readied for refugees in Syria - Russian center

According to the Russian Centre for the Reception, Allocation and Accommodation of Refugees in Syria, 89 healthcare and 213 educational institutions were rebuilt

MOSCOW, July 21. /TASS/. The Russian Centre for the Reception, Allocation and Accommodation of Refugees in Syria has prepared more than 336,000 places of accommodation for the Syrian nationals returning from foreign countries, the center said in its daily bulletin on Saturday.

"As many as 336,500 places for reception and accommodation of refugees have been put up in 76 populated localities which were least affected by combat activities," the bulletin said. "For example, over 134,000 places were put up in the Aleppo province, 73,600 places - in the Rig Dimashq province and 64,000 places in the Homs province."

According to the center, 89 healthcare and 213 educational institutions were rebuilt in Syria, 254.5 kilometers of motor roads were repaired and 186 kilometers of power lines were laid down in Syria. In addition, 83 electric substations, 69 water supplies facilities and 2 fuel and energy facilities went into operation.

"For the last two months, 1,207 people have come back from abroad, while 232,792 refugees [have returned] since the beginning of the operation," the center said.

The Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday that the Centre for the Reception, Allocation and Accommodation of Refugees had been set up to "monitor the return of all temporarily displaced persons and Syrian refugees from foreign countries to their places of permanent residence; to monitor humanitarian aid deliveries to Syria; and to assist the Syrian authorities in recovering the healthcare system and other social services.".
