Russian anti-HIV drug approaching clinical trials

A highly active anti-viral drug known as Dinavir has been developed in Russia

MOSCOW, April 18. /TASS/. Russian medication to treat HIV is nearing its clinical trial stage, chief of the Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare Anna Popova said on Wednesday at the 6th International HIV/AIDS Conference in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

"The central research institute on epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor is working on the development of brand new drugs for gene therapy, gene prophylaxis and molecular vaccination against the HIV infection. A highly active anti-viral drug known as Dinavir has been developed, which is approaching its clinical tests phase," Popova noted.

The 6th International HIV/AIDS Conference in Eastern Europe and Central Asia sponsored by UNAIDS and the Russian consumer rights watchdog is being held in Moscow from April 18 to 20, 2018.
