Nicaragua’s president offers asylum to Snowden

MEXICO CITY, July 6 (Itar-Tass) - Nicaragua’s President Daniel Ortega has said that he had received a request for grating political asylum to former CIA employee Edward Snowden and is prepared to meet it.

“Ours is an open country. We respect the right to asylum. Naturally, we shall gladly accept Snowden and grant him asylum in Nicaragua,” local media quoted Ortega as saying on Friday.
