MOSCOW, July 1 (Itar-Tass) - A consul on duty at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport has confirmed that National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden has asked political asylum in Russia.

“I conform that at 22:30 on Sunday a British citizen Sarah Harrison handed over Snowden’s plea for political asylum,” he said on Monday.
