Russia to launch Progress MS-28 space freighter to orbital outpost next year

According to Roscosmos, the resupply ship has been dispatched to the Russia-leased Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on a railway platform

MOSCOW, November 24. /TASS/. The launch of the Progress MS-28 resupply ship to the International Space Station (ISS) is scheduled for 2024, Russia’s State Space Corporation Roscosmos announced on Friday.

"The launch of a Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket with the Progress MS-28 resupply ship to the ISS is scheduled for 2024," Roscosmos said in a statement.

Today the Progress MS-28 has been dispatched to the Russia-leased Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on a railway platform, it said.

Before the dispatch, the resupply ship underwent an initial stage of factory proof tests, Roscosmos added.

"In the second half of this year, the Progress MS-28 underwent a full cycle of autonomous tests of onboard systems, service equipment and apparatus," it said.
