Russian culture minister to open WWII exhibition in Cannes

Exhibits from the collection of the Russian State Central Museum of Modern History as well as from the private collection of Dmitry Bushmakov

MOSCOW, August 23 /TASS/. Russian Culture Minister Vladimir Medinsky will open a WWII exhibition in Cannes, southern France, on Sunday.

"Russian Culture Minister Vladimir Medinsky will attend the official opening of ‘The Russians and French in WWII. Brotherhood in Arms’ exhibition on August 23 to be held as part of XVIII Russian Art Festival in Cannes," the Russian Culture Ministry said.

This unique exposition tells about how the Russians and the French fought against the common enemy-fascism - in WWII.

Exhibits from the collection of the Russian State Central Museum of Modern History as well as from the private collection of Dmitry Bushmakov, the head of LLC Leibshtandart, form the bulk of the exposition, Russian Culture Ministry said.
