Russia to send 31st humanitarian aid convoy to Donbas

Truck convoys formed by Russia’s Emergencies Ministry have delivered a total of over 38,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid to the Donbas region since mid-August 2014

MOSCOW, June 24. /TASS/. Russia’s Emergencies Ministry is preparing the 31st humanitarian aid convoy to east Ukraine's Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics known as the Donbas region, a ministry spokesman said on Wednesday.

"The convoy will soon deliver to the Luhansk and Donetsk regions foodstuffs, medicines, essential supplies and other items required for the residents of Donbas," the spokesman said.

The ministry’s Il-76 aircraft departed from the Ramenskoye airfield outside Moscow to southern Russia’s Rostov-on-Don earlier on Wednesday, carrying more than 32 tonnes of humanitarian cargo, mostly medicines.

"Medicines and other medical means will be loaded on the vehicles that will be part of another humanitarian convoy of Russia’s Emergencies Ministry being formed in the Donskoi rescue center," the spokesman said.
