MOSCOW, June 11. /TASS/. The prospects of resuming the G8 format are unclear, Russian State Duma’s Committee of International Affairs head Alexey Pushkov said on Thursday.

"We see that the G8 format no longer exists, and the prospects of resuming it are, in my opinion, very unclear," Pushkov said.

It is useless to take part in the association that is not an organization for dialogue but rather is "an organization for pressuring" Russia, the lawmaker said. "The West is not ready to give up using formats that include Russia to pressure it," he added.

The value of G7 has decreased, and it now looks like "the club of US’ friends," the lawmaker noted.
