MOSCOW, October 23. /TASS/. Russia will recognize Ukraine’s parliamentary elections due October 26, Russian presidential administration chief Sergey Ivanov said Thursday.

“We will recognize them,” Ivanov said while answering a relevant question. “We want Ukraine to become normal and civilized so that it is a state not hostile to Russia and capable of supporting itself."

Ivanov said that after elections in the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, the situation is likely to start returning to peaceful in Ukraine.

Moscow does not care about who will pay up the natural gas needed by Ukraine but Russia will not do it for sure, Ivanov said.

It is impossible to isolate Russia, sanctions are attempts to pressure Russia, he continued. “Isolating Russia is just impossible. And the entire world does not plan to isolate us,” Ivanov told journalists. “Real sanctions are only imposed by the UN Security Council, all the rest is pressure attempts and not sanctions,” he said.
