Germany extradites Chechen resident to Russia

MOSCOW, July 03. /ITAR-TASS/. The German authorities at the request of Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office have extradited Russian citizen Mauldin Gavdakhanov. Russia's Prosecutor’s Office told ITAR-TASS that he is accused of large-scale production and storage of narcotic substance without the intent to sell.

According to investigators, in June 2013, Gavdakhanov at his residence place in Grozny gathered leaves of wild hemp and in the yard of his house made a fire to produce hash oil for personal use. He poured theoil into a plastic bottle. After a criminal case was opened against him, he disappeared and in July 2013 he was put on the federal and international wanted list.

In November 2013, Gavdakhanov was found in Germany. In December 2013, the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office sent to the German Federal Ministry of Justice an extradition request for him that was granted in June.

The criminal case against Gavdakhanov is investigated by the Russian Federal Drug Control Service (FSKN) department for the Rostov region.
