MOSCOW, June 24. /ITAR-TASS/. A suspected female accomplice of an international terrorist organization was detained in Russia’s capital, Moscow, the Interior Ministry’s main anti-extremism department told Itar-Tass.
“Officers of the Interior Ministry’s main anti-terrorism department, jointly with its Samara regional branch, detained a suspected accomplice of an international terrorist organization that is currently rampant in the North Caucasian region,” the department said.
“During special operations against radical Islamic groups oriented at the ideology of international terrorist organizations in the North Caucasian region and Middle East states, a 25-year-old native from a Caucasian republic was exposed,” the department said.
According to specialists, the suspect was selling batches of drugs in the Volga River city of Togliatti and presumably used illegal income for material support to members of international terrorist organization Imarat Kavkaz that is rampaging in the North Caucasian Republic of Dagestan.
The Togliatti investigation department opened criminal proceedings against the suspect for illegal acquisition, storage, trafficking, making and reprocessing of particularly big batches of narcotic substances, but the defendant escaped justice to avoid criminal responsibility.
Her whereabouts were detected in the search operation. Operatives of the anti-extremism department detained her in Moscow’s Simferopolsky Boulevard and convoyed her to the city of Togliatti for investigation.
