Russian Vice-Premier Rogozin to hold talks with India's leadership on Wednesday

This is the first visit to India by a high-ranking Russian official following the formation of the country's new government

NEW DELHI, June 18. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia's Vice-Premier Dmiry Rogozin is due to arrive in India for a working visit on Wednesday for talks with the new leadership of the Republic of India, says an official communique of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.

This is the first visit to India by a high-ranking Russian official following the formation of the country's new government. According to the Ministry announcement, Rogozin arrives in India as a special envoy of the Russian President.

On Wednesday, Rogozin is scheduled to meet with Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj. Both politicians are co-chairpersons of the Russia-India Intergovernmental commission for trade-and-economic, scientific and technical, and cultural cooperation.

After the meeting with the Minister, the Russian Vice-Premier is to meet with Arun Jaitley, Indian minister of Finance and Defense.
