MOSCOW, March 20. /ITAR-TASS/. The Russian Geographical Society (RGS) plans to cooperate with cartographers and the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography to draw new maps of Russia including the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol as two new parts of the Russian Federation.
The society in the near future will consider sending a scientific research expedition to Crimea to study the republic's rich natural, cultural and historical heritage.
The RGS plans to open a regional headquarters in Crimea this year.
