Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev admits that the situation in the region remains tense

MOSCOW, November 29, 15:37 /ITAR-TASS/. Criminal activities of the bandit underground in the North Caucasus are significantly suppressed, and at present it is necessary to take measures to maintain stability and rule of law in the region, Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev said at the meeting of the military council of the ministry's interior troops command on Friday.

“One of the main tasks, on which our efforts are focused, is counteraction against terrorism and extremism in the North Caucasian region,” the minister said.

"The level of criminal activities of the bandit underground in the Caucasus has been lowered," he said.

At the same time, the situation in the region remains tense, he noted. Terrorism and illegal armed groups are still among the main threats to security. This always must be taken into consideration, and measures must be taken to maintain law and order and stability," the minister said.
