Russia's President Vladimir Putin believes the country's political system is developing

SNEGIRI (Moscow region), October 24 (Itar-Tass) - The Russian political system is developing and “people expect larger openness, honesty and competitiveness from it,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a message of greetings to participants and guests of the all-Russia meeting with the chairpersons of the election committees in Russian constituent entities, which opened in Snegiri, Moscow Region, on Thursday.

“It is important that this public request was fully satisfied. So, the trust to elections and their results will be growing. This is a pledge of sustainable development of the state, attainment of civil accord and stability,” the Russian president said in the message of greetings that head of the Russian Presidential Domestic Policy Directorate Oleg Morozov read out at the meeting.

The document noted that the 20th anniversary of the Russian Constitution (this event is celebrated in 2013 - Itar-Tass eds) became the most important event in Russian modern history. “The Russian Fundamental Law laid down the basic principles of popular rule, state and public system of the country,” Putin said. “The Russian election system was also built on constitutional norms,” he said.

The president also noted in his message of greetings that for the past few years the election committees of all levels “succeeded to ensure worthily the election campaigns at all levels from federal to municipal levels.” The president also noted that “much was also done for the improvement of the election procedures, election legislation.”

Putin wished fruitful work in the interests of people to the participants in the meeting.
