Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev met with Surkov several times before the resignation

MOSCOW, May 8 (Itar-Tass) - Vladislav Surkov filed a statement of resignation from the post of the deputy prime minister and the head of the governmental staff on his volition on April 26, Russian prime minister’s press secretary Natalia Timakova confirmed this news report on Wednesday.

“Surkov filed resignation on his volition, he filed a statement of resignation on April 26,”Timakova said.

In reply to the question whether Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is informed about the foresaid event, she gave a positive response, noting that before the resignation Medvedev met with Surkov several times.
