Elite cottage built without authorization is being dismantled in Moscow

Heavy-duty equipment rolled to the three-storey mansion near a yacht pier on the bank of the river Moskva early on Wednesday

MOSCOW, May 8 (Itar-Tass) - An elite cottage located on Moscow's Karamyshevskaya Embankment which the authorities say was an unauthorized construction project, is being dismantled. Heavy-duty equipment rolled to the three-storey mansion near a yacht pier on the bank of the river Moskva early on Wednesday and the works began to pull the house down in the presence of bailiffs.

In 2009, the Moscow arbitration tribunal ruled that the structure was illegal and had to be removed. In 2010, bailiffs had 25 writs of execution on hand to pull down illegal structures, including three- and four-storey cottages and two yacht piers.

In late 2010, bailiffs fined debtors for not complying with court rulings and placed restrictions on leaving Russia for a number of citizens.

The elite settlement on the Karamyshevskaya Embankment is located opposition the Rechnik village, on the bank of the Moskva.
