KEMEROVO, March 28 (Itar-Tass) – The rescuers are evacuating the miners from the coalmine Alardinskaya in the city Kaltan in the Kemerovo Region, where a fire broke out on Thursday, the press service of the regional authorities told Itar-Tass.
Meanwhile, the press service of the regional authorities claimed that “all 528 miners (who were working in the mine) went up to the surface themselves, no casualties were reported.” The miners began to put out the fire themselves.
The conveyer belt in the sixth shaft caught fire at 09:45 Moscow time on Thursday. Three teams of mining rescuers are working at the incident site. The task force from the Kemerovo regional emergency situation department and five units of mining rescuers are on the way to the incident site.
