YEREVAN, February 18 (Itar-Tass) – A presidential election has ended in Armenia.

All 1,988 polling stations closed in Yerevan and across the country at 20:00 local time. Election commissions have started counting the votes.

The election went calmly, the Central Election Commission said.

Incumbent Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan is winning a convincing victory in the presidential elections, according to an exit poll conducted at 154 polling stations on Monday, February 18, for the Armnews television company.

The poll shows that 58 percent of people voted for Sargsyan.

Sargsyan is running for a second five-year presidential term and is considered a presidential hopeful.

According to the exit poll, Armenia’s sixth presidential election ended in one round.
