MOSCOW, December 8 (Itar-Tass) —— Moscow and Washington have discussed missile defence and conventional arms control, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Saturday, December 9, after a meeting in Geneva between Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov and acting U.S. Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Rose Gottemoeller.
The diplomats discussed “issues of strategic stability, missile defence, the Nunn-Lugar programme, conventional arms control in Europe, the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty, and security of space exploration”, the ministry said.
Ryabkov and Gottemoeller also exchanged opinions on further improvement of the legal framework for bilateral relations and some other issues of mutual interest, the ministry said.
