Russia and Singapore to discuss cooperation in innovative business

The 4th International Business Forum ‘Russia-Singapore Business Dialogue’ will be held in Singapore on 26 March 2019.

The event is organized by the Russia-Singapore Business Council and the Singapore Manufacturing Federation with the support of the Roscongress Foundation. The general partner of the Forum is Rostec State Corporation.

The Forum promotes the development of business partnerships between companies and organizations of Singapore and Russia, as well as the exchange of experience in the field of innovative entrepreneurship.

"Singapore is one of Russia’s largest investment partners, as well as the world’s high-tech hub. Today, the main areas of practical cooperation between Russia and Singapore are energy, transport, agriculture, infrastructure development, information and communication technologies. At the same time, we must actively develop cooperation in high-tech," - said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation.

Participants of the Russia-Singapore Business Dialogue will discuss cooperation in the most promising areas: radio electronics, smart city technologies and the Internet of things, innovations in medicine and environmental technologies.

The event traditionally gathers about 200 participants from Russia, Singapore and other countries representing state and municipal government, business, public organizations and media. The Russian delegation will be headed by deputy director general of Rostec State Corporation, chairman of the Russia-Singapore Business Council Nikolay Volobuev.

A cooperation agreement between the Roscongress Foundation and the Russia-Singapore Business Council is going to be signed at the Forum.

"Last year many events were timed to the 50th anniversary of Russian-Singaporean diplomatic relations. There are not so many events this year. Yet the trade turnover increases, and so does the amount of business exchange. It is likely that the volume of investment from Singapore to Russia is going to increase. The Russia-Singapore Business Council provides assistance to the Russian projects in Singapore and the Singaporean ones in Russia. We ourselves are implementing two ambitious projects: an international B2B platform RSTrade and the Centre for the foreign promotion of Russian high-tech companies and the presentation of investment projects created in Singapore. I am confident that the agreement with Roscongress will open up new opportunities for the development of Russia-Singapore economic relations and will contribute to broader, deeper cooperation in other areas," - said Sergey Pronin, executive director of the Russia-Singapore Business Council.

Participants of the event will be able to continue the dialogue on the development of innovative business cooperation between Russia and Singapore at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and the Eastern Economic Forum.

The Roscongress Foundation is a socially oriented non-financial development institution and a major organizer of international conventions, exhibitions and public events.

The Roscongress Foundation was founded in 2007 with the aim of facilitating the development of Russia’s economic potential, promoting its national interests and strengthening the country’s image. One of the roles of the Foundation is to comprehensively evaluate, analyse and cover issues on the Russian and global economic agendas. It also offers administrative services, provides promotional support for business projects and attracting investment, and helps foster social entrepreneurship and charitable initiatives.

The Foundation’s events draw more than 80,000 participants each year from 195 countries, with more than 10,000 media representatives working on-site at Roscongress’ various venues.
