MOSCOW, April 11. /TASS/. Russia appreciates Jordan’s contribution to efforts seeking peace for Syria, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday at a ceremony in the Kremlin, in which 17 newly appointed ambassadors presented him their credentials.
"We appreciate the contribution made by Jordanian partners to sustainable functioning of the de-escalation zone in south Syria," Putin said.
In 2018, the two countries mark the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Jordan.
Putin emphasized that the Kremlin "is content with positive results achieved in main areas of our cooperation."
In September 2017, the Eurasian Economic Commission and Jordan signed a memorandum of cooperation, he said.
Apart from that, Putin mentioned regular and constructive contacts with King Abdullah II.
"During the latest talks in February in Moscow, [we] discussed topical issues, related to the strengthening of bilateral relations and coordinated efforts over Syria," he said.
