MOSCOW, April 10. /TASS/. Russian president's envoy for the Middle East and African countries, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Israel’s ambassador to Russia Harry Koren discussed the situation in and around Syria, as well as in the Gaza Strip, during their meeting, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.
"The current situation in the Middle East, especially in and around Syria and in the Gaza Strip, was discussed during the meeting," the Russian ministry informed.
"The diplomats also touched upon the pressing issues of Israel-Russia bilateral relations," they added.
Earlier, Koren provided his commentary on the results of the meeting, saying that "it was a routine, scheduled conversation."
On April 9, a massive missile strike was delivered on the T-4 airfield in the Syrian province of Homs. As the news agency SANA reported, citing a military source, there are dead and wounded persons among the Syrian military. Syria blamed Israel for the attack. According to the SANA sources in the Syrian Army command, F-15 fighter aircrafts belonging to the Israeli Air Forces fired several missiles on target from Lebanon’s airspace.
