ANKARA, April 3. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan have discussed further joint steps to resolve the Syria issue, as Putin himself said at a press conference after the talks.
"We considered the possibility of taking joint steps to resolve the Syrian crisis, particularly ensure the ceasefire and create conditions for intra-Syrian talks," Putin said. "Tomorrow, we will discuss these issues at a trilateral meeting involving Iranian president Mr. Rouhani," he added.
The Russian leader said that Erdogan and he had also exchanged views on other pressing global issues.
Putin thanked the Turkish president for substantive talks and a warm welcome. He stressed that boosting relations between the two countries was in the interest of their people and would contribute to ensuring peace and stability in the region and beyond.
