Russia to send two MPs to PACE meeting

The State Duma will send two lawmakers to the PACE Presidential Committee meeting that will take place in Paris on December 14

MOSCOW, December 5. /TASS/. The State Duma will send its Vice Speaker Pyotr Tolstoy and head of the Committee for International Affairs Leonid Slutsky to a meeting of the Presidential Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) that will take place in Paris on December 14, State Duma Council announced on Tuesday, as Slutsky told TASS.

"Yes, we are going there. The State Duma Council decided to send us: me and Pyotr [Tolstoy] to a meeting of the PACE Presidential Committee," Slutsky said. He specified that the discussion is expected to focus on the report on the future of the Council of Europe.

According to the earlier reports, the Russian parliament received an invitation signed by PACE President Stella Kyriakides (Cyprus) to send a Russian delegation to the Paris meeting consisting of two State Duma members and two Federation Council members.
