Russian and Iranian lawmakers will meet on December 5

MOSCOW, December 4. /TASS/. Russian and Iranian lawmakers plan to discuss interparliamentary cooperation, war on terror in Syria and Tehran’s nuclear issue at a joint meeting of foreign policy committees of the Russian State Duma and the Iranian Majlis on December 5, senior Russian MP Leonid Slutsky told TASS.

"The meeting's agenda includes issues of interparliamentary cooperation, developments in Syria in the context of combating the forces of international terrorism, mine clearing efforts and restoration of vital infrastructure in the Syrian Arab Republic, the Iranian nuclear dossier and our cooperation in nuclear field and also economy and investments," said Slutsky, who chairs the Russian State Duma Committee for Foreign Affairs.

Earlier, Slutsky said the meeting is also set to discuss anti-drug efforts and a memorandum on understanding, which is expected to be signed during the upcoming visit of State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin to Tehran.

A delegation of the Iranian Majlis led by its Speaker Ali Larijani is currently visiting Moscow for an international forum "Members of Parliament vs. Drugs".
