Russia’s State Duma to retaliate against US Congress yanking RT’s press credentials

The State Duma is hammering out tit-for-tat measures in response to a decision made by the US Congress to revoke RT’s Capitol Hill credentials

MOSCOW, November 30. /TASS/. The State Duma is hammering out tit-for-tat measures in response to a decision made by the US Congress to revoke RT’s Capitol Hill credentials.

"Retaliatory measures are being put together in response to a decision made by the American legislature to yank the credentials of the Russian news outlets," a State Duma source told TASS on Thursday.

The source explained that the issue might concern documents determining accreditation guidelines.

Radio and Television Correspondents’ Association (RTCA) Chairperson Craig Caplan earlier informed RT that its Capitol Hill credentials had been rescinded. He stressed that this particular decision was taken on November 21 after a unanimous vote in the committee because the T&R Productions, LLC (T&R) company that services the RT American branch is registered as a foreign agent in the US.
