Ambassador says Washington’s unfriendly steps undermine cooperation with Moscow

The Russian ambassador to the US comments on Moscow-Washington cooperation

SAN FRANCISCO /California/, November 30. /TASS/. Washington’s unfriendly steps have been negatively affecting its cooperation with Moscow, Russian Ambassador to US Anatoly Antonov said on Thursday at a reception hosted by the World Affairs Council non-profit organization at San Francisco’s Fairmont Hotel.

"Russia has been facing groundless accusations of interfering in the US elections and the country’s other internal and external affairs," he pointed out. "The expulsion of Russian diplomats, the seizure of Russia’s diplomatic property and the removal of Russian flags, as well as the harassment of Russian media outlets - all these unfriendly steps undermine the foundation of Russian-US cooperation," Antonov stressed.

The Russian ambassador is currently on a trip of the US state of California that will last till December 3. The trip’s agenda includes meetings with Russian compatriots, experts and businessmen. Besides, Antonov will speak at universities, inspect Russian diplomatic facilities in San Francisco and visit Fort Ross, a former Russian settlement and fortress, which is now a historical landmark and part of the Fort Ross State Historic Park.
